The backlash on this one is going to be interesting, with The Daily Mail's Keith Waterhouse claiming that bloggers do not have an original thought between them.
They never acknowledge original authorship, believing as they do that googling has outmoded the law of copyright. Googlers and bloggers do not have an original thought between them. Their ruminations on tax reform, Europe, immigration, Iraq, security, education and the rest have already been googled ten times over by fellow bloggers copying their source material from some other blogger's googling diatribe to the local newspaper. [source] It seems to me that what he's trying to say here is that because there's hundreds of thousands of bloggers out there, that should any two happen to agree on an issue, ragarless of their political leaning, they're unoriginal.
Actually, he also has a go at "Googlers" - whatever they might actually be. I'm not sure, and neither were the guys at The Register:
Yep, Keith Waterhouse, a man who is guaranteed a place in heaven for penning the wonderful Billy Liar, has had a pop at Googlers (whatever they might be) and Bloggers who he argues don't have an original thought between them. [source]
I thought I would raise this one to agree with Keith though. Well, maybe not completely, but certainly on what I'm about to say: That I'm quite sure I don't have an original thought to myself on this one. Clearly I'm not going to be the only one to say I think this guy a complete douche, twit, or just clearly has no idea :) |
